Happy winter solstice my bloggies:

I've been away from SL for far to long. A few things have changed. For instance, what the hell happened at the Silent sim? Some sort of blinding modern whiteness has eaten it! I'm so sad. A small solace though, it occurred to me that the endless glowing white walls could be an excellent back drop for photography.

I had to return to SL because I heard Paper Couture released their Fall collection (Yes I know, that was months ago... just let me catch up for goodness sakes). So here I am floating in the bright void of Silent in one new and one old Paper Couture dress.

First the Newish: "Magpie" dress with one of PC's fabulous wigs from last season and "Dahlia" skin by Mia Snow, of course. Paper Couture has got to be one of the most exciting fashion design groups in SL. But when I saw the little video promoting the Fall line my jaw dropped open and I gasped out loud "Who are these girls?" Seriously, it sent shivers all through me.

And the Oldish: "Rode Island" from PC's Spring collection with "Sushi" hair by Coif. Now this is just the sort of outfit I would wear to the old Silent sim. But I can always wear it while strolling about Tableau which thankfully hasn't changed a bit.

Sheer Swirly

My Inventory hit 10K a few weeks ago and I had to take drastic measures. While I was culling the heard I ran across all sorts of goodies I didn't even know I had. Sh Oluja from Sheer dropped some review copies on me and I just never got around to looking at them till now. In my first picture the dress and ripped nylons are from Sheer. I love the color silver and this dress has a lot of both shiny and muted tones that give it a really interesting texture. Sheer sells a ton of cool nylons in different styles and levels of ripped-up-ness. The nylons are only 50L a piece and are sold in fatpacks for not a whole lot more. There's also a freebie pair of zebra print nylons in knee high and tights at her shop.

I picked up the free "Swirly Cyclone Edition Ingrid" skin by La Sylphide at the skin fair and took the opportunity to buy a hair style I've seen on the real Swirly, "Exotic Diva" by Zsazsa's House of Beauty. I don't know what took me so long to buy it but I'm so happy I finally did. It has such a cool texture, kind of like thick yarn, and the curls spiral crazy in all directions.

The second dress was a group gift from 3 Cupcakes called "Green Outfit". I love the colors and the classic cut of it and you can get it too by joining the group and searching the notices.

Dearest Bloggies,

I've come to the conclusion that my words are nowheres near as interesting or entertaining as the fashion or my images. I think the clothes can speak for themselves better than I can. Especially since everything I blog about is of such exceptional skill and quality that all I can think of to say is "ZOMG, look at how awesome this is!!! I just LOVE IT!!!" etcetera. So more pix less talk. The art of photography is to make something that's more than the sum of it's parts by creating an image that also evokes emotion and inspires ideas. This is something I've been thinking a lot about lately as I strive to improve my image making. If you have an opinion on the subject let me know. I'd love to hear what other bloggers and bloggies think.

Little Black Fierceness

Regardless of what "They" say, BLACK is the past-present-future-new-now-black. There's nothing like black (the complete absence of color) when it comes to couture. It's sexy, it's cool, and in SL (just as in RL) black can hide a multitude of shortcomings.

This killer dress is "Betty Black" with "Pointelle Lace Crop Jacket" from Digit Darkes. I love this shop! The hand drawn illusions of shininess and wrinkles totally sells the latex texture, as does the little bow belt across the chest. I had no idea latex could look this sheik. And to match, I'm wearing the very shiny "Scamander Heels" new from Adam n Eve.

I'm channeling Rachel from Blade Runner again this time in Philotic Energy's new hair style "Tierney" and "Doll Girly" skin by BP. In my opinion, Betty Page Voyager makes the most beautiful skins in all of SL. So dewy. My stockings are by Persona and I'm wearing my favorite earings "Roses & Thorns" by Shiny Things. Eyes by Inspired!

Here I am in a new dress by Ghost! called "Reverse" and it's my favorite dress by Ghost! so far. I think I'll be wearing this outfit a lot because it just makes me look so damn good. On my head is a brilliant hair style by COIF also named "Ghost". Just look at that profile. Crazy fierce! I changed my shoes to "Slingback Buckled Pumps" by Bettie's to complement the lines in the dress. You should see me walking from behind... this outfit is so sexy. I'm wearing a different BP skin called "Autumn Juicy". The eye makeup on this skin is really unique. I can't say enough about that girl.

Don't you love it when your cat jumps on your keyboard while you're writing a post? (Please forgive this re-post fashion feeders.)

I'm one of those VD haters but I'm totally in love with and in awe of the couture that's come out recently. Thanks to some very talented designers my cold black heart has been impassioned after all. Here are 3 outfits that brought me joy this week.

I love fuzzy soft textures! I finally nabbed the free "Love Affair" hair from RaC on the second attempt and it was well worth the trouble. OMG it's so gorgeous! The texture is crazy soft and it moves beautifully about the shoulders. I'm wearing 2 other wonderful freebies: "Fuzzy Skirt" by Curious Kitties and Aniti V-Day Tank" from WRONG. The skirt has 4 prim attachments so you may have to pick a new spot for your AO. I'm crazy about this skirt and will be adding it to my No Brainer Wear List. And how damn cute is the tank? Thank you WRONG for lovin us haters.
My skin is an exclusive free gift from Dutch Touch. The eyes were a free Christmas gift from Inspired! and the red leggings were a Kyoot Army freebie from the opening of the Silent sim. I may have actually paid for the "Slochie (sic)" leg warmers from Shop Seu but I can't remember (go there regardless).

"Red Mid" is one of the new couture dresses from Ghost and was generously given out free for the the GLAM fashion show. The GLAM sim has become an amazing place to shop. I'm very excited by the idea of high fashion in SL and GLAM truly is at the center of this trend.

Dig the "Amy" hair from Aden. Okay, here's my story; I went to the Appearance Mode sim when it first opened and I found this Amy Winehouse inspired hair in Aden's shop but the next time I visited it had disappeared. I don't know why it disappeared (because it fkn rawks) but now I'm worried that Aden didn't intend to put it out there. Sorry Aden but this hair style fkn rawks and you should put it out for the people. Don't hurt me.

My skin was a freebie from Bijou. I'm wearing eye lashes from Bianca F. (BF). And the shoes are "Ruffle Boots" from Shiny Things.

Love this outfit "C's Tutu" from Juju's Closet! It comes with the skirt, socks, and shirt. The little gloves are from Irelyn and the fur wrap is "Pon Pon Cape" from Lycee. The hair is "Meghan" from ETD and the skin is "RetroDoll" by Ingenue for Another Fundraiser. Oh, my cold little hater heart is positively singing with joy! I asked fashion to be my Valentine and fashion said "YES"! Yay!

IRL I've had a migraine on and off for about a week or so and I haven't had any patients for SL. But today I woke up with a perfectly happy head! Yay! So it's time to get busy since I have so much to blog about.

This first outfit is a mash-up. Silent Sparrow has a wonderful new set called "Midnight Circus" that's a must have IMHO. Here I'm wearing the corset from the set with "Prison Tights" from Ghost. I absolutely love the "Urban Peasant" skirt from Tree of Second Life but I want it to be named Urban Pheasant instead. The "Puffy Arm Warmers" are from one of my favorite shops Amerie's Naughty. The hair style is an old favorite "Samantha" from Random. I love the furry, fluffy, feathery textures of these pieces. My shoes are "MaryGeo" pumps from Shiny Things. Best shoes ever! My skin is "The Vamp" by Bossa Nova for Another Fundraiser and my eyes are from Inspired!

Now that you're warmed up let me introduce you to an amazing dress, "Victorian Steampunk" from Unzipped. Just look at this thing! It's intricate (involving several prims), elegant, and seriously cool. The lacy cuffs and under-skirt have a wonderful cog pattern with an excellent illusion of dimension and shadow. I love the cut of the skirt and the bustle. I think this is THE perfect Steampunk dress. A girl could easily run from hostile natives, zombies, or a dastardly mustached villain in this dress (though maybe not in those shoes). The dress also comes with a cute little hat not shown in my pictures.

The shoes are "Eva" from Lassitude & Ennui another wonderful Victorian shop. I'm wearing a hair style from The Steamstress simply called "Hair #3". If you look closely at it you'll see the hair is woven to look kind of like cogs. How cool is that? And the skin is "The Angel" by Bossa Nova for Another Fundraiser.

I feel both bad ass and lady like in this outfit, and if that's not a good reason to love the steampunk style I don't know what is.

Hey Fashion Hearters:

Wow. The SL fashion world just keeps growing like... some big unstoppable growing thing. Now we got a new feed and I've already seen some sites I've never seen before. Neat! More fashion, more blogging, more SL!!! Yay!

We also keep getting new shopping sims. Passionate Neko Dreams has a new home sim on Cassiopeia Isle. And it was there that I found this beautiful Lolita style dress called "School Dollie" from The Doll House. I had no idea I had a school girl fetish in me, but here I am again in a school girl inspired dress. So pretty! The skirt is huge and flutters all crazy like when I walk. I'm also wearing Shoes from Tesla and eyes by Inspired!

Check out this hair style "Chloe" from Crimson and Clover. I found my way there from a Fashion Con notice and it's one of those little gems I would have otherwise missed. Thanks Fashion Con! The designer's name is Rikka Koi and I'm eagerly looking forward to what she makes in the future because this girl clearly has talent and style. Check out her shop, it's very cool.

I finally dragged my butt over to Another Fundraiser and ended up buying a bunch of skins. The one I'm wearing is called "The Vamp" by Bossa Nova. If you haven't checked out the sale yet you better go now cuz it will be gone soon. Did I mention the skins are 50L?

Here I am "Riding Normal" on a mechanical panda. Just one more reason why I heart SL.

Adorable Dead Boy

I'm really sad and pissed off that Heath Ledger somehow managed to drop dead for no good reason. He should not be dead, he should be wondering which tuxedo he's gonna wear to the SAG Awards on Sunday. (closes eyes and shakes head) Fucker.

*sigh* It occurred to me today while I was picking up the lovely free Heath Ledger messenger bag up at CRAP, that there's probably a memorial somewhere in SL. And I was right.

Hear I am at The Heath Ledger Memorial with my beautiful bag. I love the bag, I'm gonna hang it up somewhere in my house. The graphic is very sweet. Thank you Tenshi.

Hey Bloggies,

Is it just me or has SL been particularly crashy over the last 2 days? I did managed to get enough pix for a post, I had to re-log 3 times while shooting them, but I got em.

Dot tipped me off to yet another Japanese shopping sim I hadn't been to yet. It seems that discovering new ones has become something of an obsession for both of us (see Dot's review of Cipher, another shop on the same sim). And *BONUS* it was a Neko loving land with kitties everywhere you look. Yay!

I found an interesting shop called Izumiya that had pretty cool stuff for ridiculously low prices, like 0L - 25L. And I thought, "this stuff must suck because it's more or less free". So I picked up a few things and went home to try em out, and you can see the results below. They in fact did not suck and I've since gone back to pick up more pieces. So, lordy sakes children, go get some!

This first outfit is a men's suit but it was free and I was curious how it would look on me. I love it! It's well made and I especially love the cat print tie and cat tie clasp. I paired it with "Qamra" new from Philotic Energy and "Flared Oxfords" from Shiny Things.

This out fit is made of 3 different pieces: "Stray Cat" tank top, "Japanese Pants" pants, and "Shirt Skirt" a flannel shirt tied around the waist. Super cute.

Freak Boutique

Let me tell you about a shop I found that has me all squeaky. Freak Boutique has a single theme, "School Girl". Forget the fact that no RL school girl would ever wear these clothes to an actual school and not get expelled immediately. We're not in RL are we (no), we're in SL (yes we are, tell me more).

These outfits are sheer, sexy, colorful, and exceptionally well made. Freak Boutique sells a handful of sets like the one below called "Film School Dropout" It comes with everything even flat Mary Jane shoes and adorable film-clapboard-thing earings (and bracelets, not shown). The details are really impressive from the film-pattern to the bows (and those earings are just the coolest things ever). The skirts are particularly well made and I was able to resize mine to fit my gigantic avatar with no problem (I often have problems getting prim skirts to fit right).

CAUTION: Here's a close up of my gigantic avatar bootie so you can see the back details. I'm usually staunchly anti-crack but here I think my ass looks positively bite-able, if I do say so myself.

The store is laid out so you can build your outfit piece by piece from a huge array of beautiful colors (fat packs are available of course). There are about three different styles of shirts, skirts, socks, and panties. I like the belt instead of bows skirt version I chose below, and the plain style shirt with strippy sock gives my outfit a sort of punky retro look that I just love.

Tea Time

I have been in the grip of some sort of inventory-phobia. I'm paralyzed. I can't find anything. What's more, I just realized that I'm now one rez year old (and a few days). The chaos of my inventory will certainly multiply exponentially with time until its mass causes it to collapse in on itself and become a black hole where nothing, not even face lights, can escape. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Let the deletion begin.

Guess what I found while sorting my inventory today. Three blank CSR Stamp Rally cards (bangs head on desk and cries). The rally ended January 14th, of course. Well, let's try to post about some clothes, shall we....

I'd like to tell you about a lovely Japanese shop called Dreaming Alice that my friend Dot Lane told me about. This pretty dress is called "Teatime" and it's yummy. I don't collect too many of these Babydoll/Lolita type dresses, not because they're not beautiful (they are) but because they're just not quite my style (whatever that is). But this one's perfect for me with it's muted tea color and understated lace details. And, my brand new "Classic Stacks" pumps from Shiny Things go perfectly with it.

So didjya get to the ETD sale? Good lord that was exciting (seriously). Thanks to The Rummage Box for the sale tips. I love ETD's hair and they were selling styles for 25L, that's just nuts! This style is called "Maaliyah". LOVE IT! So soft and fluffy looking, just gorgeous. The ETD sale ends January 26th so you better hurry.

Rolling Restart 2008

Happy New Year Bloggies!

I have so much wonderful stuff to blog about I don't know where to start. On top of that I've been having issues with the Windlight viewer where if I turn up the resolution I loose my lighting. Very annoying! I have to turn the resolution to "Mid" and no higher to get lighting like in this picture. Here's the first picture I've taken since Xmas that hasn't pissed me off. It's a start. Much more to come.

This little black dress is "Femme en Noir" from ICING. I originally bought it only because I wanted the dragonfly broach that came with it but when the white fur collar from Covergirl knocked the broach off its attachment spot I realized I liked the dress even by itself. The white fur helps give dimension to all that black.

I'm wearing another great hair style from Philotic Energy called "Piper" The little flower in my hair was a New Year's group gift from Sugar Cube. It's called "Ketty hasu no hana" and I believe it's traditionally worn in Japan in honor of the New Year. My shoes are " Ketty Ribbon Wood Sandals" also from Sugar Cube. My skin is "Re Lust" from Another Shop.

How awesome is Saeya Nyanda? Well, she did make the Photosphere. She also makes the most original fashion in SL for her Kyoot Army. And now the Silent sim. Have you seen Silent, of course you have, then you know and I don't have to tell you any more.

Here I'm wearing my very favorite holiday freebie "Xmas Skull Scarf" group gift from Kyoot Army. We are the luckiest and best dressed army ever! Clearly Saeya believes that every day is Halloween, even Xmas. And why not, it is the darkest time of the year.

To continue my Gothic mood I slipped on my Tuli "S4 Goth Tone" skin, also a group gift. One of my very favorite hair dos, "Bjork" by Aden. This killer dress is "Fallen" by Love, Aly and it comes with a skinned knee. You can barely see my Tesla shoes "Elise". And I've been wearing my amber "Anime Eyes" from Inspired! for a while now, I love the big eyed doe look.

Here I'm wearing the "Birdskull Muffs and Ocelot Scarf" from Kyoot Army. The Ocelot Scarf is the perfect accessory for a Gothic little black dress. The little black dress is "Goth Black Flowers N Lace" from Tori-Wear (AKA Bare Rose). The kick ass boots are "Usagi" from Kru's Boutique. The skin is, once again, a special edition gift from Dutch Touch. The fabulous furry arm warmers are from Amerie's Naughty.

Last but in no way least, is the hair. You can visit Coif at Silent. I'm wearing the "Minnie" packaged in an array of colors and a black Minnie Mouse bow (I'm seeing how the other side lives, lol). You just have to go and see the hair styles yourself in their natural habitat of the Silent sim. I know the designs and styles I love are not for everyone but if you're anything like me, the awesomeness may just blow your mind. You've been warned.

I'm seriously just so impressed by some of the designers in SL... I feel very excited to be here and very privileged to be apart of this community. I wish all of you, designers and design lovers, a very festive holiday. Love yous guys <333

Have you seen the new hair "Georgie " from Sand Shack Surf Couture? It's all Diana Ross and SO cool, I could not believe how awesome I looked when I put it on! I love how my neko ears just barely poke through the top. The cuteness is so extreme you're gonna need a Red Bull to endure it.

The shirt is "Orange Lotus" from Fashionably Dead. The pants are "Uncouth" from Nocturnal Threads (one of my very favorite pair of pants). I'm still wearing the Dutch Touch skin that came as a group gift, and the shoes are "Flared Oxfords" from Shiny Things.

Now onto the scarf set! This set comes from Mala Miau of Acid & Mala Creations. It's called "Bufanda Flexy Calentadores y Manguitos". The only part of that I understood was the flexy, but you don't need a translator to understand the cute that is clearly communicated here. This shop has some of the cutest neko stuff in SL. The scarf is, in fact, flexy and moves a little like a snake... a very very cute snake with a neko paw print pattern. The arm and leg warmers match of course. Acid & Mala is at a shopping sim called "Neko and Co" and it's a very cool build, big too. If you like things neko you MUST go visit this sim immediately!

More Sweet Sweaters

Heya Bloggies:

I'm really diggin all the cool hand drawn sweaters that have been coming out this season. IRL I'm a big fan of the cardigan because it lets me continue to wear tanks in the winter. Seriously.

The first one is my favorite, "Long Knit Jacket" by Fashionably Dead. It has pretty pink heart shaped buttons and a pink ribbon around the neck. I'm not a big pink fan (or a heart fan for that matter) but I am a big brown fan and the little pink details look very nice with the brown sweater. I love the neckline, very boobie flattering.

This is "Honey Bee Sweater" by Thimbles. Thimbles has a lot of cute quirky well drawn clothes.

And last but not least is "Rose Sheep Cardigan" by Honey Kitty. If you expand the picture you'll see that indeed there are both roses and sheep on this sweater. So cute!

The rest of my outfit is mostly the same as my post 2 days ago. Hair is "Gilly" new from Philotic Energy, skin is a group gift from Dutch Touch, Neko ears are by Wynx Whiplash, jeans are "Denim X" from Truth, shoes are "Flared Oxford" from Shiny Things, and the belt is from Artilleri.

I love the Mean Girls Guide to SL it's one of my favorite SL blogs. And thanks to them and Wrath Paine I now know what spoons are for. Well I'm here to add some more to their linkage rate.

Just look at this insanely cute dress! The ribcage is so well drawn that it really makes a pretty good illusion. I love love love it and I can not find the store it came from. This makes me sad. The folder says it is "Catalyst Vertigo Ribcage Red" but no LM and I can't find one in search. If you know where I bought this dress please comment or email me. Thanks.

Maybe Philotic Energy's cutest hair yet "Gilly". Have I told you how much I love PE? No? I love Philotic Energy's hair! Now you know. PE's hair makes me positively squeaky.

This skin was a free gift from Dutch Touch. Not all of her skins look good on my shape but this one suites me very well. Beautiful subtle makeup with a light sprinkle of freckles. Just gorgeous! You can get it by joining the Dutch Touch group.

The "Buckletop Fishnets" are from Decadent Designs, the shoes were a group gift from Maitreya "Limelights Red Leopard", and the neko ears, of course, are from the master Wynx Whiplash.

Random Scifi Channel Bad Movie Quote of the Day:
"Your plan is not just coming apart, it's being ripped apart by giant bugs!"

Often when I'm working on the computer I have the TV on for background noise. Today Scifi is playing one of their famously terrible movies called "Cave In: Prehistoric Terror". When that dialog went through my ears I had to stop what I was doing and write it down. I've had some disastrous plans of my own so it totally made me laugh out loud.

Plans make me nervous for that very reason, I generally fail to prepared for the likelihood of being trapped in a cave with giant carnivorous bugs. That said, it seems that I have begun the long arduous journey to becoming an SL fashion designer. I'm working with the templates, playing with patterns, and figuring out how things work. I'm just gonna take my time at it, see how it goes.

I just felt like saying that stuff. Thanks. I also wanted to say that I enjoyed reading everyone's 8 random facts. It surprised me how many people said they were shy. Maybe all us shy fashion bloggers ought to get together in world and have a slumber party or something. That'd be fun.

1) I took up the name Chartreuse in 1997 when I was adopted into a tribe of radical anarchist hillbilly drag queens (this is 100% true).

2) There are 3 foods I can’t stand: donuts, raspberries, and caraway seeds. That last one really sucks because I do like rye bread.

3) In the summer of 1977 I saw the movie Star Wars 28 times.

4) My cats have me wrapped around their fuzzy little paws.

5) Once at a bus stop a total stranger tried to set me on fire because he saw me kiss my girlfriend goodnight. He did not succeed.

Hiya Bloggies!

I know a lot of blogs are talking about the new Le Zoo shopping build (It's super cool) and Tuli's main store there (she's giving out a bunch of presents). I love her new "Push" outfit but I've seen it on several blogs so I won't repeat it. I just want to say that I really love Tuli and now is a good time for Tuli lovers.

The dress below is "Julia" my favorite of the presents. I love this dress! If you look at it closely you'll see all the intricate hand drawn shadows and wrinkles that makes this dress stand out from the skin. Such great work and the pattern and colors are so pretty.

One of my other happy finds of the week is this little hand drawn stitch trim shrug sweater "Eiru" from Tree of Second Life. I can't remember who tipped me off to TOSL or I'd give them credit for it, but thank you whoever you are. The build is pure whimsy. Of the things in the little tree-shop, these shrug sweaters stopped me in my tracks. They come in 4 colors and I ended up buying them all. They are such a pretty addition to sleeveless dresses and tanks. TOSL also has a shop at the Cotton Candy mall but you really ought to see the tree.

I returned to Sin Skins after Ann Launay told me where to find the last pearl (thank you!) and bought this skin from the "Nimbus" group called "Brood Passion". I love dark eyes and the smears make my cute little cheeks poke out. I'm trying to make a poutie face here for dramatic effect. I'm also wearing Sin Skins' "Ferra" lashes.

The hair is "Amelieish" by Hiccup and it makes me squeaky with joy! So cute it hurts me.

Beautiful and Beastie

I've been a little overwhelmed ever since my new 'puter arrived on Friday. I'm able to run the Windlight browser now and I've been busy wandering around aimlessly looking at things. I managed to make one beauty shot but I've been having a lot of trouble with lighting using Windlight. My face lights don't seem to work very well for some reason and the time of day lighting is much darker. Hopefully that will get fixed. This photo has a Diffuse > Anisotropic filter applied to it.

As I'm sure you know, Sin Skins had a big pearl treasure hunt and I found all but one. I loved the stuff in the pearls. There are 2 pairs of lashes and I actually got them to fit on my face! Very exciting! The skins are so cool. The lips are fatter than I like tho. The one above is in the Etheria group and it's called "Pomegranate". I love it and the lips don't look so fishy against the red skin.
I'm also wearing one of the pairs of lashes. The hair is "Emily" new from ETD. The eyes are from Hybrid Products. The dress I found free somewhere.

OK, I know I said that it's silly to make winter clothes for SL because avatars don't get cold, but clearly avatars do need fashion and winter clothes can be cute. So here are some wintery tops I've collected lately that I really like.

#1 "Ronja Jacket" by Artilleri (procured for free from the Artilleri Halloween treasure hunt!)

#2 "Saltwater Taffy Sweater" by Surf Couture. I don't know what's going on with the knit pattern but I think it's just crazy cute.

#3 "Frills Trim Cardigan" also by Surf Couture. I love the hand drawn details especially the light reflecting off the satin trim. Beautiful! Surf Couture just keeps getting better.

#4 "Arabesques Sweater" by LilolOops. LilolOops' designer clearly loves bright colors and I'm particularly drawn to green and orange. I love the hand drawn pattern and details. This sweater probably wouldn't keep you all that warm IRL but my avatar looks adorable in it and that's all that really matters.

Dearest Bloggies:

In Real-life I live in a lovely mid-sized American city named Minneapolis where it's Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving is an American holiday, with an ironic and dubious story, when we take the day off to eat the domesticated version of a bird that almost became our national symbol. The Mighty Turkey.

Turkey is good and so is taking the day off to hang out with your peeps and eat too much. What's more, it's also snowing! It's the lazy fluffy snow globe kind of snow that's very difficult not to enjoy. And I am feeling pretty thankful. Among all the obvious things I'm thankful for, I'm also thankful for Linden Labs, Second Life, all the nice people I've met, and all the cool content I've enjoyed because of this awesome and absurd experiment we are partaking in together.

With all the irritating issues SL has been having lately sometimes we forget that we are lucky to be building a brave new digital world together. We are lucky to peacefully be doing what humans do when they are at their best, making art and culture and science together as a community. That may sometimes seem trite and pointless in the shadow of Real-life horrors, but there's nothing trite about making and sharing beauty. It's quite literally what our species does best when we are at our best. It is our superpower.

Tricks & Treats at Tableau

I went running off to Tableau after reading a post in Shopping Cart Disco. I really admire Toast Bard's hand drawn skins and was pretty excited about the prospect of finding something unique at the treasure hunt.

Tableau is an amazing build! It's incredibly fun to explore (take a boat ride!) and it's just gorgeous and atmospheric. There are historical rest stop signs at key points that tell a funny story about the island's founders. In all it's a very unique and fun place that's a "must see" IMHO.

That said, I had a lot of fun looking for the little voodoo potion bottles that hold the avatar altering substances. What I didn't expect was to pay quite a hefty price for them. Me, being such a curious and compulsive kitty, I bought them all. I figure it helps support this wonderful build plus you get something entirely unique to torment your avatar with.

So in this SL public service announcement (with guitars) I'll show you the dangers of playing with voodoo at Tableau.

Today I have some excellent deals to tell you about. I've found yet more Japanese shops with great stuff for ridiculously low prices. First, we have Little Town. The first dress is called "Angelite" and it cost all of 30L. The second dress is called "Ammolite". Both these dresses come with shoes that don't suck! Little Town also has great prim skirts for even less.

The next shop is called Umi Usagi and this designer really loves the bunnies. The first dress cost 80L and has the signature usagi pattern along the bottom of the prim skirt.

This outfit only cost 100L. Umi Usagi also has some freebies out front.

I don't know if you can see it, but the lace pattern is made up of the shop's signature usagi!! I love this dress, so pretty! Bunnies rock!

Today's skin is "Lily" and came free via Halloween treasure hunt at Artilleri! Love it! Artilleri is just the best, isn't it? My hair is "The Grable" from Ingenue. On top of it being a great hair style the color is gorgeous and the texture is super silky. I had to adjust it a little to fit my giant avatar head but managed not to destroy it in the process. Yay! Oh yah, and another pair of Inspired! "Anime eyes style #3" this time in Indigo.

It's quite a package for a freebie and worth the trip just for the eyes, IMHO.] The eyes also come with an optional sparkle attachment. SO CUTE! I love the sparkles.

Hey Bloggies,

Hope all yous are havin a good Samhain. Mine has been really really extra Samhainie, and no, I will not explain what the hell that means.... Sorry, RL has been kicking my ass. In SL I've been spending a lot of time sorting through all the stuff I collected from Halloween and culling a lot of old stuff I know I'm never gonna wear. Tis the season for trimming the prims.

I bought only one new dress this week but it's a really good one. This pretty lace dress is "Pauline" new from Ivalde and it comes with the sheer black stockings. This dress will surely stay in my inventory for the rest of my SL or until it gets deleted in some sort of catastrophic server incident.

I finally got around to getting a pair of Tesla's Cute Girl Shoes in the style they call "Diva". Tesla's shoes are so beautiful! They look like real shoes, perfectly sculpted and shaded to give the illusion of weight and substance. Check out their website. I think I could wear these shoes with all but the most formal of outfits.

I found these delightful antlers in a dumpster the other day. And though I'm not hanging up my neko ears, I do love them very much. They're definitely the best thing I've found in a SL dumpster so far and they go great with my hair "Samantha" from Random. My skin is from Cake "Sierra Pearl Set 1". Cake has great skins with really cool makeup and delicate freckles that adds a lot of depth. The jewelry is "Everyday Gems" from Shiny Things another shop with really great shoes.

Godz I love this outfit! I'm so pleased that I may just stop shopping for a wile and go do some real exploring. I heard something about an evil carnival... more about that later.

I've been having so much fun collecting Halloweenie stuff! This is my first Halloween in SL and I want to thank all the designers for making so much cool stuff. Since I've run out of time and really just gotta get a post out, I'm picking my favorite costume. This excellent skeleton costume comes from !BF! for the low low price of 50L at her 50L sale in Nakama. She's rumored to have made 2 pairs of Halloween shoes that I've yet to pick up, but rest assured, I will.

These excellent Halloween neko ears were a free gift from Hybrid. The hair is an old fave from Wrong "Style #5".

And here I am in action at a lovely Halloween dance party hosted by the even lovelier Kit Maitland of CKS Designs.

Dot and I got into an argument about child support. My attorney advised me against blogging about it. Hey, does this costume make my butt look big?

It's Halloween time and everyone's getting into the spirit. LilolOops has come out with a dress inspired by the Day of the Dead with a Mexican styled skull print in 4 tasty colors. I LOVE THIS DRESS! It seems like everything at LilolOops is super colorful but the color combinations in these dresses are especially yummy. I love the delicate lace under skirt.

I accented the orange shades in the dress with "Gia" in pumpkin by Wilted Rose (unfortunately, neko ears spoil this style). A new flower necklace collection from Curious Kitties comes in orange and a bunch of other colors. So pretty!

I just didn't know what shoes to wear so I went bold with a pair of "Kitters" by HL Designs. Seriously cool boots! Really well made, nice details and texturing.

So, even though my home photo studio worked out pretty well, I broke down and bought the mighty mighty Photo Sphere from Kyoot Army! IT IS SO MUCH FUN! It's also incredibly huge but fits perfectly on the roof of my house. It comes with 40 backgrounds installed but you can buy additional design packages and or make your own. If you're into taking modeling pictures you really gotta get one. Worth every Linden.

In my last post I wore a demo skin from KaraMia because her demo-nizing is so damn cute. Here's the skin purchased fair and square in "Cateye" along with the "August Lily Dress" also by KaraMia. At first I felt a little timid wearing something so... white but after adding the "Hanna" socks from Refuge and one of my favorite hair doos "Dragon Tails" from Old Gravy I felt so kittenish that, at first, I forgot to put on my ears! The wings are from Curious Kitties, the tattoo is from Ink Stain and I'm wearing my favorite pair of shoes "Lollies" from Shiny Things.

These pictures were taken in my lovely rental house where I built a little photo studio. I'm using the Reel Expression ledge pose prop thingy which you can change to match any background.

So many distractions in both RL & SL! In RL I'm dreaming of buying a new 'puter and the superdelux Adobe CS3. **swoons and fans self dramatically** Seriously, the seamless integration of Macromedia and Adobe is a dream finally come true and I can not f'kn wait to get my hands on it! Maybe I'll actually be motivated to try making clothes for SL, imagine that.

Anyhoo, many designers in SL are putting out fall clothing as if we need it. The only remotely fallish clothing I feel draw to are these lovely hoodies. Who don't love hoodies?

First a devastatingly cute kitty-eared hoodie from Curious Kitties which also comes in bear and bunny ears or none if animal ears be not your thing. I have a hoodie very much like this in RL but mine comes with kitty paw mitties attached by a string through the sleeves. XD

The hoodie comes with tintable front hair and a second hair piece can be purchased to make the down hoodie look.
I got the skirt "Strapped Tartan" free from Neko Gear and I think it's the best punk style skirt I've seen so far, really well made. The "Tube Socks" are new from Sh*t Happens. And the boots are "Panda Stompers" from Slanted Fox.

The second Hoodie is "Neapolitan Hoodie" from Gear Shift. I love the hand drawn kitty designs, this has become one of my very favorite pieces.

The hair is "Boopie" new from Tickled Pink. The jeans are "Blah" from Eat Rice as is the belt which is no longer available. The shoes are "Black Mules" from Dreamers. And yes, I am wearing a demo skin... I just really like the mustache. I'm about to buy a few different makeups and then I'll blog about it later.

Regarding My Little Accident....

I was wandering around aimlessly and landed at Kyoot Army after misreading the notice about the new Kyoot AO at Ana_Mation. There wasn't anything new but at the front door is a sign that when touched will make you an automatic member of the Kyoot Army. Immediately upon joining I had a powerful urge to slit my wrists (Tip: the correct way is to slice down the arm not across). I blame peer pressure and my weakness for freebies.

Afterwards I was feeling a little fragile so I returned to The Alley and took refuge for a wile. I really like The Alley. ^;^

One of the most awesomest shops at The Alley is AVZ! I decided that what my arms really needed was a big hole through each of them. Then I completed my final look with a pair of prosthetic cyber legs. **Gods, I love Second Life!**

I must mention that this gorgeous dress is from Curious Kitties. The prim skirt moves in such beautiful way and the feathery details are amazing. Once again, my girl Ameshin ROCKS! I also love my hair "Dirty Biker" (sadly, designer unknown... I love it so) .

It's me, Chartreuse, bringing you a Second Life public service announcement (with guitars!). One of the newest things you can catch at Koreshan Pointe these days is The Black Plague! A sinister collaboration between Silent Sparrow and Draconic Kiss has resulted in some of the prettiest pestilence ever. Their "Danse Macabre" collection includes an incredibly elaborate period costume, skins, and hair for both men and women. Bonus: the hair comes with 2 adorable rats. I decided to just buy the skin (in Almond) and I LOVE IT! Check it out at Draconic Kiss before the CDC shows up.

There's also new stuff at Eat Rice! Here are 2 new pairs of jeans: (L) "Dingy Lush", (R) "Orange Lush". They both come with prim cuffs but I left them off the longer pair. I love the girl drawings! I'm also wearing a new tank from Ambush called "Starry Kitty". SO CUTE!

Not only does it look wicked cool but it stops on a dime so you don't go careening into walls as I've been known to do.

Two Headed Girl

Hey Bloggies:

A long series of hassles IRL and ISL have left me felling down and uninspired as of late. So, I brought out the big medicine, "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel. I am indeed a two headed girl with one IRL and the other ISL. I feel better already so lets get to it.

One of the challenge of SL is finding yourself in the creation of your avatar's look. This means finding the right shape and the right skins. I started, of course, with freebies and wore a
modified "Marlyn" shape for the first part of my SL. Then I started shopping. It's amazing how differently something can look on you than in the picture, just like IRL. Always try the demo, kids.

After much trial and error I think I've found my look. I want to thank my favorite designer, Ameshin Yossarian of Curious Kitties, for making the shape that makes ME. Her avatar "Hachiko" comes with an entire outfit including boots, jewelry, eyes, and hair. But I've found that the shape alone combined with other skins works perfectly for me.

Here I'm wearing the "Hachiko" shape with Minajunk's skin "Red". Minajunk's skins are hand drawn and just crazy gorgeous.... A lot of skins have big fat fishy lips but the lips on this skin are so soft I wish I could kiss myself! Minajunk is on the Koreshan Pointe sim, one of my favorite places ISL.

Lag the Cat

The weekend was wicked laggy but I managed to get dressed and take pix once I finally escaped Harajukubox. I had a whole post written about Harajukubox and I went there to shop and take pix but couldn’t do either. Harajukubox is a lovely punky-neko shopping wonderland. But be warned, it’s actually a clever trap, once there you’re like a fly in a spider web. I have not successfully been able to purchase anything from any shop there. The rubberbanding effect can be so severe that I can’t even navigate a shop interior. Then in a panic I try to TP the hell outa there…. **sigh** For some reason it’s really fuckin hard to TP off the sim. All the cool shops there exist on other better behaved sims so there’s no good reason to frustrate yourself by going there. There are many neko shopping playgrounds scattered across SL. Quite a few have crashed on me or were laggy when I was there. It’s probably because there are just so many neko-lovin peeps ISL.

I have to admit, I love the neko. I resisted the neko for some time but finally gave in when I saw Curious Kitties was haveing a sale on her exquisite neko ears which twitch and flexi and bring me oh so much joy! They're just too insanely adorable, I was instantly converted the moment I put them on my head.

So, after dressing up I visited a MUCH better behaved neko-lovin sim that all ISL should know and love, Koreshan. I LOVE KORESHAN! So all you goth-neko-punk-freaks, go to Koreshan and make it good-n-laggy.

The Learning Curve

I joined the Fashion Consolidated group. Now when I log in I'm met by at least a dozen messages all with attachments telling me about the wonderful new things across SL that I simply MUST go spend my L$ on. I've collected quite a few update groups from my favorite shops. Belonging to all these groups is both a wonderful blessing and a terrible curse.

It's easy to get overwhelmed by the shear volume of shopping opportunities. I think the first/best skill that I'm still perfecting, is how to separate the wheat from the chaff. I've noticed that I can TP to a shop and before the pictures even finish rezzing I know if it's crap I don't care about. It's kind of a chore sometimes, but like a gambler I keep chasing the hope of finding a winner. And when I find a winner it really is like some sort of high. I'm glad I'm not miked for sound because everyone could hear how I gasp and squeak at the sight of something super cool.

One of the very best things about these groups is getting free stuff.

Here I'm wearing a new tank from Acetone called "Kill Your Darlings" that they kindly gave their update group members for free! I would so totally buy these tanks in RL. Strangely, I think I like the free tank the best of all! Wile you're looking, check out my hair! I got it at Aden, and it's called "Bjork". ZOMG, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Bjork hair!! I think I look a little like Audrey Hepburn.

From Fashion Consolidated I got a note from a new store called Eat Rice!. Very cool little shop and I bought a belt there that I just adore. I've been trying to wear it with just about anything that will allow it an attachment slot. It's called "Kittah Seatbelt". LOVE IT!

My dearest Bloggies:

My original idea for this blog was very simple; dress up, take pix, blog about what I'm wearing. **sigh** The truth is that I've been running all over SL shopping, shopping, shopping my virtual brains out. I do carefully sort my purchases into folders like "SKINS" and "SHOES" etcetera. This is clearly not good enough.

The funnest parts are dressing up and taking pix, but then I need to remember who designed what. It's really helpful when the item has a note card or a landmark with the store's name but many of my items have no such clues. NOTE TO DESIGNERS: always label your items with your store's name so your customers can remember who you are and how to find you again.

Note to whoever is reading this: this is my first blog and I will get better at it. There are so many stores in SL, so many designers, and often shopping becomes a blurry binge after which I'm left cleaning up the mess and the details of the events are forever lost.

So, I'll push ahead with it and forgive me if I've lost the designer info for a few of the items.

This is a much better picture of the "White Crnobog" skin by Curious Kitties, this time in Ivy. You can see some of the detail around the eyes and lips. So beautiful, I just love it!
